Tours

 

Attendees of MicroCon 2019 who arrive prior to noon on Friday July 19, 2019 can choose to partcipate in one of five tours. (Prices are in Canadian dollars and include local taxes). Tours depart from hotel lobby at 12:30 p.m.

 

Dundurn Castle & Royal Botanical Gardens: ($28.25 - pay on tour day)

Dundurn Castle is a historic neoclassical mansion on York Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The 18,000-square-foot (1,700 m2) house took three years and $175,000 to build, and was completed in 1835. The forty room castle featured the latest conveniences of gas lighting and running water.

 

Royal Botanical Gardens are the largest in Canada.  Let the Baroness of Mars take you on a special tour where the natural beauty of the plants is presented in formal gardens as well as in their natural habitat.  See the beautiful art sculpture collection, listen to the soothing sound of water at the Rock Garden, observe chipmunks chasing each other.  Unplug your phone and let yourself be charmed by the surrounding beauty.

 

Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum ($16.95 - pay on tour day)

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is a Canadian aviation museum located at the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport in Hamilton, Ontario. The museum has a wide assortment of jets, propeller-driven aircraft and helicopters on display.

 

 

HMCS Haida ($4.41 - pay on tour day)

Host - Lt(JG) C. Mercer, Royal Slabovian Navey

HMCS Haida is a Tribal-class destroyer that served in the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) from 1943 to 1963, participating in World War II and the Korean War. She was named for the Haida people. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1984, she now serves as a museum ship  in Hamilton, Ontario.

 

 

Fort George ($13.22 - pay on tour day)

Fort George National Historic Site is a historic military structure at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, which was the scene of several battles during the War of 1812. The fort consists of earthworks and palisades, along with internal structures, including an officer's quarters, blockhouses to accommodate other ranks and their families, and a stone powder magazine, which is the only original building on the site.

 

Local Micro Brewery Tour ($107.35 - pay in advance online) -- Includes Lunch .

Host - Stephen, Duke of Url

Hosted by Original Hamilton Beer Tours, participants on this tour will visit three local Hamilton Micro Breweries.  Tour includes a flight or glass of beer at each brewery as well as a food pairing and a guided behind the scenes tour at one of the breweries.

 

Niagara Falls Day  Tour ($129.95 - pay in advance online)
